Tue, November 15, 2005 - 10:05 PMCool -- glad you like it! (It went over like ham at a bar mitzvah on gybo.)
And to answer Craig -- I do some DJ-ing, but not very often. I'll post here next time I'm playing in the area. -

Wed, November 16, 2005 - 11:47 AMHeh heh, gybo love it, thanks for creating it, I'd put it in my top 5 mash ups, along with the likes of Party Ben - Boulevard of broken songs and Dunproofin' - Hellastella etc... -

Wed, March 15, 2006 - 3:09 PMcool-that worked. Nice array of stuff- How long have you been making mash-ups? Do you also DJ? I just found this tribe the other day, nice to meet some other mash up enthusiasts. I think I liked the Frankie Mode the best.

Re: Lipps Inc vs B-52s, Donna Summer vs Jam & Spoon
Thu, March 16, 2006 - 1:13 PMThe first mashup I did was back in 1991. I took a completely ambient track (Frazier Chorus's cover of "Anarchy in the UK") and mashed it up with beats from an acid house track by Adonis and "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. This was all done in the ancient Digidesign "Sound Designer" software, which is basically a stereo sample editor.
And yes -- I do do some DJ-ing. I'm actually starting up a new monthly club night on the third Saturday of the month at The Oasis in Oakland. See www.clubretroactive.com for more details. And our tribe (which I encourage you to join) is at tribes.tribe.net/clubretroactive
Cheers,
