Any links to a 101 about how to even get a foot in on this stuff?
Like, is it possible to lift instrumentals from a regular source with vocals?
How difficult is it to quantitize(?) , is that the word? what I'm talking about is matching tempos.
is that hard?
What IS the basic setup?
Is it possible to do all this w/out spending 500 dollars on software?
or wading through 500 pages of the history of DJing, which I'm already familiar with.
I'd like to see bedroom djs bloom like mycelium all over the states/ the world but the subject is confusing to many of us little people.
any help is appreciated.

Sun, November 26, 2006 - 2:44 PM...also, where would I get interesting dialogues? Like the lost 'U.N.K.L.E'. in that old album by the same author.
Do you think those are mostly scripted? or found? and if found...where?
anybody got some leads for me?
...or is that somehting that I need to find out then keep secret?
Are there ways to record dialogues from DVDs?
Can I do all of this while sitting in front of my PC?
Where can I get answers? -

Re: help! Good intro site/ link to remixing/mashing?
Thu, November 30, 2006 - 12:20 AMI have yet to jump in to mashing up my own music, but it's on my list of things to do for 2007 as there are some mash ups that I would LOVE to hear and no one else seems to want to do them.
Anyway, start at GYBO.org (Get Your Bootleg On), read the faqs and other posts in the "Help" section. should be a good place to start:
